What are your hours?
We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm. This does occasionally change, so it is best to call before dropping by.
Do you have parking?
Yes, we have a free parking lot. There is also street parking around the building
I have my period. Should I still come for my appointment?
Yes! Please keep your appointment.
What should I expect when I arrive for my appointment?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment to allow us to check you in and to have time to fill out any necessary questionnaires.
I do not have a valid Saskatchewan Health Card. Is this a problem?
In this case you will be charged for the services you receive at our clinic. We take payment in cash or cheque made out to your doctor. Although your exact case may require additional charges, our consult fees are as follows (subject to change):
New consult: $184.00
Follow up visit: $76.40.
Any further testing or procedures will bring additional cost above these fees.
These fees are directly in relation to what the Saskatchewan Medical Association suggests for payment (www.sma.sk.ca/59/fees-uninsured.html).
Do you complete medical forms?
In most cases we do. Please bring the form with you to your appointment. Your doctor will complete the forms after clinic hours and we will call you when it is complete. We do charge your forms.
Small, simple forms: $20
Large, more complex forms: $40
This is payable in case or by cheque made our to your physician. We do not release forms until payment is received. Depending on your insurance, you may be able to be reimbursed for these fees.
Can I wear my shoes or sandals in your clinic?
We don’t allow footwear in our clinic. However, feel free to bring your own slippers, socks, or use the free booties provided over your bare feet. Please note, any belongings are left at the main entrance at your own risk.
I am having an IUD inserted. Is there anything I need to know?
You must bring your IUD with you (you should have received a prescription from your doctor prior to this appointment).
When you arrive we will ask (in most cases) for a urine sample prior to seeing the doctor, so please come with that in mind.
If you do not already have a prescription for an IUD, your appointment will be a consultation only.
I am coming to see you for an infertility appointment. What should I expect?
Please bring your partner along for the appointment. We will required both of your valid health cards and any relevant medical investigations. Please expect to answer questions regarding both of your medical histories. We may also order further testing for yourself as well as your partner.
Are the physicians at MWV female?
Yes, the full time physicians and staff all identify as female. We are affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, and learners may participate in your care with your consent. If one of our full time physicians is on leave, there may be male ObGyn replacing her.
Do I need a referral to be seen at MWV?
Yes. You can obtain a referral from your family doctor or a general practitioner. If you have been a patient at MWV in the past and are having a different concern you’d like checked out, you will require a new referral to be sent to us. We also need a new referral if it has been more than 6 months since we last saw you.
How can I change or cancel my appointment?
You can call our office at (306) 352-4963, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, to speak to a receptionist.
To ensure we are providing the best possible care to you and our other patients we require a 24 hour notice for cancellations. If we receive less than 24 hour notice, or no notice at all, you will be charged a fee of $80 for new patient appointments or $40 for follow up appointments.
I need to cancel my appointment for Monday. How much notice do you require?
We require you to call us the Friday prior to your appointment at the latest. You will need to call during business hours (8:30am - 4:30pm) to speak to one of the receptionists. In order to keep our waitlist as short as possible, we try our best to keep all appointment spots full. You will be charged a fee of $80 for new patient appointments or $40 for follow up appointments if you do not call within 24 business hours.
Do you take walk in appointments?
We do not take walk in appointments. You must have an appointment to see a physician here.
Can I call to get test results, that were ordered at MWV, over the phone?
If you don’t have a scheduled follow up and would like to discuss results, please CALL to book follow up and specify you would like a phone call. If you wish to be seen in person to discuss test results, you can book online or call.
I have questions or concerns. Can I call and discuss this over the phone with my doctor?
No. Our clinic hours are dedicated to seeing patients in the clinic. You are more than welcome to call our office to book an appointment to discuss any concerns.
I’m pregnant, in case of an emergency, who do I call?
If you are more than 20 weeks pregnant and think you have any of the following, call the Health Line (811), contact Maternity and Wellness on Victoria (306 352-GYNE), or go to Labour and Birth at the Regina General Hospital (remember to go through Admitting first):
Slips or falls onto any part of your body.
Decrease in your baby’s movements.
Sudden gush of fluids.
Cramps, contractions, backache, pressure in the pelvis.
Bleeding and/or sudden severe pain.
Severe headache, seeing bright spots or flashes of light.
Fever and severe vomiting.
Any other severe health problem or concerns.
If you are less than 20 weeks pregnant and require urgent medical attention, go to your closest Emergency Department.
